Customer Service & Sales Representative (100% Remote)

As a Customer Service and Sales Representative, you’ll be responsible for capturing sales lead information, providing information about products and services, and following up with leads until a successful close. Your primary duties will also include managing and resolving support requests from existing customers.

The communication channels used to carry out your duties include live chat, email, text, internal support ticket system, and phone.

Duties and Responsibilities

Overview

Provide fast, friendly, and professional customer service and support via email live chat, email, support ticketing system, and telephone for various types of leads and customers, including the following:
  • Individual leads looking for online training products which have not yet purchased a product and are seeking additional information before purchasing.
  • Business leads looking for one or more of our training solutions that have not yet made a purchase and are seeking additional information or looking to put at ease before purchasing.
  • Individuals who have purchased online training courses that need help to improve their post-purchase experience.
  • Businesses that have purchased any of our products who need help to improve their post-purchase experience.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively seek out new sales prospects via various channels.
  • Communicate with leads from multiple training websites via live chat, email, phone, text, and other methods, promptly answering their questions and leading them through the entire sales process in real time.
  • Capture sales lead information, enter into CRM, and follow up via email, telephone, chat, and other methods with the goal of closing sales.
  • Support existing customers and resolve issues through live chat, email, telephone, and other methods to improve their post-purchase experience.
  • Maintain detailed logs and reports of customer and lead interactions.
  • Write and maintain knowledgebase help docs, canned responses and snippets, sales and support templates, and other documents.
  • Provide exceptional service and support to internal team members.
  • Additional duties as required, including content creation, social post management, VA, and more.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3+ years of customer service and sales experience with a 5-star customer service rating and the ability to close sales consistently.
  • Ability and skills to use up-to-date tools and technology, including Google Work apps, MS Office apps, chat applications, VoIP phone systems, and various web-based applications.
  • Familiarity with web-based CRM systems and their purpose. We use Streak, but familiarity with other systems is fine as it’s applicable and translateable to Streak.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (in English) with a friendly and helpful attitude.
  • The ability to communicate with various characters and personalities, sometimes not the most pleasant, without affecting your demeanor and performance. Basically, a tiny fraction of leads and customers can occasionally be a bit unpleasant. You need to stay on your bearings if this happens, not take it personally, and continue to provide exceptional service.
  • Impeccable clarity and accuracy with written communication and content.
  • Self-directed problem-solver with a desire to continuously improve and over-deliver.
  • Ability to take constructive feedback well and use feedback to improve effectiveness and efficiency. This is incredibly important as we are continuously making changes to optimize our systems and processes.
  • French-Canadian and/or Spanish-speaking will be an asset for this role but not an absolute requirement.

Bonus Points if you’re an exceptional writer and have experience writing blog posts, sales copy, or other related web content.

Super Bonus Points if you have experience as a safety professional/trainer and sales experience.

Super Duper Bonus Points if you have experience with WordPress.

Additional Expectations

This role is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week contract position with the opportunity for a long-term role based on performance. While hours are somewhat flexible, most will be worked between 8 am – 5 pm on weekdays, as these are the highest traffic periods requiring the most demand.

Most of our team is based in Toronto, Ontario and Austin, Texas, but we work remotely. Candidates in the US and Canada are preferred; however, we will consider candidates in other locations who possess exceptional skills and qualifications.

While this position is a full-time, 6 – 12 month contract role, high-performing candidates will have the opportunity to transition into a long-term role at the conclusion of the contract.
