Who This Training Is For
Confined spaces exist in nearly every industry, and many workplaces have more of them than workers realize. OSHA requires employers to provide confined space awareness training to any worker whose job brings them near confined spaces, not just the workers who participate in an entry. This course is intended for:
- Canadian Maintenance workers, machine operators, facilities staff, utility workers, general labourers, and other workers whose jobs bring them near tanks, silos, pits, vaults, manholes, and other confined spaces.
- Construction workers on Canadian construction sites where excavations, new structures, and ongoing work can create confined spaces.
- Canadian Supervisors and team leads responsible for workers in areas with confined spaces.
- Workers due for confined space awareness refresher training.
- Canadian contractors and site personnel who need documented confined space awareness training before being permitted to work at a site.
- Employers standardizing confined space training programs across multiple Canadian sites or shifts.
- Canadian organizations who need to integrate SCORM confined space training into their internal learning management system (LMS).
The confined space awareness online training for Canadian workers is designed in alignment with the CSA Z1006 Management of work in confined spaces standard . It is organized into four progressive modules, building from confined space identification, standards, and roles through hazard recognition to confined space programs, safe work practices, and rescue and emergency response.
Each module concludes with a quiz to confirm comprehension before trainees advance to the next module.
